How to Make an Ornament-Display Tree
Ornament (Christmas ornament image by Allyson Ricketts from Fotolia.com)

An ornament-display tree is a clever, inexpensively crafted sculpture that can be used for holidays or any other time of the year. Once it's up and decorated, it's a no-fuss tree, as it won't shed any leaves or needles. Add holiday ornaments or any other embellishments.

Instructions

  1. 1

Paint the pot a desired colour with acrylic paint.

  2. 2

Cut a section of florist foam with a knife and fit it snugly inside the pot.

  3. 3

Cut different lengths of sturdy but easily bent craft wire, gauge 6 to 11, with a wire cutter. Coil the wires by wrapping them around a metal skewer. Coil only half of the wire's length and leave the second half straight. Make a dozen or so of these coiled wires.

  4. 4

Tape the straight ends of the wires using florist tape.

  5. 5

Insert the wires into the foam, straight ends down.

  6. 6

Pick ornaments to hang on the coiled wires.
