How to Replace a Saab Wiper Relay

Updated March 23, 2017

A Saab wiper relay helps control the function of the windshield wipers in your Saab. When this relay fails, then your Saab's wipers will not work. The relay is located in the power distribution box underneath the hood of your vehicle. Replacement relays can be purchased from a Saab dealership or some auto parts stores. Once you have the replacement wiper relay, you need to know how to replace the relay. If you've never done this job before, it should take you no more than five minutes.

Open the bonnet of your Saab and locate the black box on the passenger side fender. This is the power distribution box.

Open the box cover by pushing in on the retaining tabs and pulling the cover off.

Locate the relay in the power distribution box that looks like the replacement relay. Your Saab's relay should be in the centre of the distribution box.

Pull the old relay off by hand and snap the new relay into place.

Snap the distribution box cover back into place and close the bonnet.
