CorelDRAW X4 files are created in CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4, and you must use this version of the software (or newer) to open them. However, since all versions of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite are backward-compatible, you can use Graphics Suite X4 to save an X4 file in an X3 format, so users who only have CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 can open and edit it. However, you will lose any X4-specific features in the conversion process; keep this in mind when saving files in earlier version formats.
