How to Bypass iPhone Emergency Mode

Before activating your iPhone, you are unable to make use of any of its functionality. A screen will display simply asking you to connect the device to iTunes to configure it. From this screen, Apple also allows emergency calls. This means that a user can move the lock-slider to the right to open a number pad to place calls in case of an emergency. In order to bypass this mode, you must activate and configure the device through iTunes.

    Open iTunes.

    Connect the phone to the computer. The device will appear in iTunes.

    Select the phone. The "Set Up Your iPhone" screen will appear in the main iTunes window.

    Click "Set up as new iPhone" and click "Continue." Enter your wireless carrier settings and follow the directions displayed in iTunes to configure the device. Once configured, you can access the device as normal without the "Connect to iTunes" or "Emergency" mode showing.
