Skype is computer software that allows users to make phone calls, video calls and instant message over the Internet. Making phone calls to other Skype users is free; calls to landlines and cell phones incur a fee. If you have an Archos computer, you can use Skype to call friends and family with your Internet connection.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Connect the computer to the Internet wirelessly or through an Ethernet connection.

  2. 2

Navigate to the "Download" section of the Skype website. The link is located in the "Resources" section.

  3. 3

Download the latest version of Skype by clicking the "Download" button and choosing "Save File."

  4. 4

Double-click the Skype program downloaded to your Archos computer and follow the onscreen instructions. The installation will take a few minutes.

  5. 5

Start Skype by clicking on the "Skype" on your computer.
