How to Make a Half Fold Booklet

Updated April 17, 2017

Booklets can be used for presentations, programs for weddings or theatre productions and for many other occasions. You can even help your children create their own booklets that feature their original stories and drawings. A half fold booklet can be easily created in Microsoft Word by making a few adjustments to the document's page set-up before filling in your text and images.

Open Microsoft Office and open a new document.

Open "Page Setup" from the "File" menu and then click the "Margins" tab.

Under the "Multiple Pages" list, select "Book Fold."

Enter your desired inside and outside margin space in the corresponding boxes.

Type the number of pages you want for your booklet in the "Sheets per Booklet" box.

Select any other options that you want for your booklet in the "Page Setup" box.

Create your document like you normally would, adding text and images as usual.

Print your finished document and fold it in half to form a booklet. Fold your sheet of card stock in the same way and slip it over the folded booklet to create a cover.

Open the folded booklet to the centre and place three staples running down the crease of the fold, one in the middle and one in the bottom. You want the top, or smooth side of the stable, to be on the outside of the booklet and the rough side of the staple to be on the inside of the booklet.
