How to Make a Samsung DVD Player Region Free

DVD players are made with what is known as "region codes." These codes prevent the DVD unit from playing DVDs from foreign region code areas. Currently, there are nine region codes. For example, the United States is region 1, England is in region 2 and so forth. With only a few simple steps you can make your Samsung DVD player region free.

Locate the model number of your Samsung DVD player. This information is found on a sticker by the unit's outputs or on the bottom of the unit; check the packaging box as well.

Write down the DVD hack instructions for your Samsung DVD player.

Power on your Samsung DVD player, open the disc tray and leave it open. Region-free DVD hacks usually require that the DVD player's disc tray is open as the region hack code is inputted.

Enter the Samsung DVD hack code according to the instructions. Program the Samsung player to region code 0 or "All." Your Samsung DVD player should now be region free.
