Sanding

Wet-sand the scratched area on your door, using ultra-fine sandpaper of 2000 grit or higher. Use plenty of water in the process to keep the area clean and to avoid making any more scratches

Rubbing Compound

Rubbing compound contains some fine grit that acts as a polishing agent. If you have an electrical buffer you can use this to apply the compound. If not, just use a soft terrycloth towel.

Wax

The final step in the repair process is to wax the area you have repaired. This seals the paint and protects the repaired area.
