How to Setup a Joomla Email With GoDaddy

Joomla! is an open source content management system for publishing content on the World Wide Web and corporate intranets. It is written in PHP and can be used to create a wide variety of web platforms such as blogs and social networking sites. Setting up your GoDaddy email account with Joomla! will allow you to check your email without having to log into the GoDaddy website.

Things You'll Need:

  • GoDaddy email account
  • Joomla! account

    Creating a GoDaddy Email Account

  1. Step 1

    Go to the GoDaddy website. Highlight the "Email" menu option and select "Manage Now" under "Manage My Email Account."

  2. Step 2

    Log into your account. Enter your GoDaddy username and password, then click "Secure Login."

  3. Step 3

    Create an email account. Click "Use Credit" to activate a free email account. Select the domain account(s) you wish to associate the email account with. Click "Continue."

  4. Step 4

    Click "Add email address." Enter a desired email address name before the corresponding domain.

  5. Integrating GoDaddy With Joomla!

  6. Step 1

    Log into your Joomla! administrator account. Click the "Global Configuration" icon.

  7. Step 2

    Click the "Server" tab. Enter the GoDaddy email address in the space beside "Mail From" and "SMTP Username."

  8. Step 3

    Enter your GoDaddy email password in the space beside "Password." Click the "Save" icon on the top-right of the screen then click "Apply."

Tips & Warnings
  • Check your email settings by sending an email to your GoDaddy account and viewing it in your Joomla! inbox.
