Range Rover has a few different 2007 models. The process for removing the steering wheel is going to be the same for all of them. Removing the steering wheel or doing any maintenance or repair to the Range Rover yourself will void the warranty. You will need to buy a special tool that releases the air bag module from the Range Rover dealership. Removing the steering wheel can be done at your home.

Instructions

  1. 1

Open the hood and loosen the nuts that secure the ground, negative and positive battery wires. Pull the wires off the battery. The battery needs to be completely disconnected so that the air bag does not deploy while you are working.

  2. 2

Release the air bag module by inserting the steering wheel tool in the small hole on the side of the steering wheel base and turning it clockwise. Do this to both sides of the steering wheel.

  3. 3

Pull the air bag module off the steering wheel and pull the wires from the connector. Remove the nut in the centre of the steering wheel using the adjustable wrench. Pull the steering wheel off the frame.
