Changing the shocks on your Toyota Previa will not take you a long time if you do it correctly. Shocks absorb most of the vibrations from driving over the bumps on the road. If your shocks go out, you will have an uncomfortable ride in your Previa. Toyota offers a lot of different types of shocks for you to choose from when you are shopping for your new shocks.

- Tire tool
- Ratchet set
- New shocks
Park the Previa on level ground in a well-lit place. Use the tire tool to remove the lug nuts on the tire. Raise the front end of the Previa and put jack stands at the support point under the Previa. Lower the Previa onto the stands and remove the tire.
Remove the nuts at the bottom of the shock connecting the shock to the control arm with the ratchet set. Remove the nuts at the top of the shock that are connecting the shock to the frame with the ratchet set. Slide the shock out of the housing and set the shock aside.
Slide the new shock into the housing. Replace the nuts at the top of the shock securing the shock to the frame with the ratchet set. Replace the nuts to the bottom of the shock securing the shock to the control arm with the ratchet set.
Place the tire onto the Previa, replace the nuts to the tire, and tighten with the tire tool. Raise the front end of the Previa and remove the jack stands.
