Step 1
Create your promotional video. Make sure the video includes important product and service information. While you will have a chance to reinforce your selling points in print, the video should include everything you need to convey to your audience.
-
Step 2
Upload your promotional video to a click-to-play host such as YouTube.com. Services like these not only host your video, but allow you to share it easily by embedding or linking. This is pivotal to the video e-mail marketing process.
-
Step 3
Take a screenshot of an engaging still image from your video. Avoid using the default still image provided by your host unless it is the most engaging capture available.
-
Step 4
Add your screenshot to the e-mail with a text link nearby. Add a play button to the middle of your screenshot if possible, even if the image does not link to a video. The play button will indicate to your e-mail recipients that there is a video component to the message. You may also wish to use your screenshot as an image link that recipients may click to view if you are HTML-savvy. Create a link to the video as you would with text, except use your screenshot as the hyperlink body in your HTML code.
