The windshield wiper switch on a Buick LeSabre powers the windshield wipers, the cruise control and the indicators. When this switch dies, you can replace it with a working switch from the Buick division of General Motors. Most GM dealerships have a parts department that you can order a new switch from. You may be able to purchase a replacement switch from some auto parts stores, however.

- Cross point screwdriver
Remove the screws on the underside of the steering column cover using a cross point screwdriver.
Pull the steering cover down manually to remove it and set it aside.
Unplug the electrical connector from the wiper switch assembly.
Remove the screws holding the wiper switch to the steering column with a cross point screwdriver.
Pull the wiper switch off the steering column.
Align the mounting holes on the new switch with the mounting holes on the steering column cover.
Thread and tighten the mounting screws to secure the switch to the steering column with a cross point screwdriver.
Reconnect the electrical connector.
Replace the steering column cover and tighten the mounting screws with a cross point screwdriver.
