Instructions

  1. 1

Unplug your Weslo Treadmill before you begin any repairs so that you won't get shocked. Take the cover off the motor. Inspect the outside of your treadmill for damage or wear, as well as internal parts of the treadmill, including the motor. Vacuum with the crevice tool attached to clean underneath and around your treadmill, removing any dust or debris. Carefully vacuum any dust or debris that may have accumulated around the motor.

  2. 2

Inspect the walking belt to make sure it is intact. Trim walking belt if it is frayed on the edges. Loosen the rollers by unscrewing the screws on either side of the rollers so you can lift them out along with the walking deck and belt. Slide the walking belt off the deck.

  3. 3

Trim the edges of the walking belt with a razor knife. Use a metal straight edge or ruler as a guide. Be sure that the edges of the belt are smooth before you replace it to keep the belt from fraying further.

  4. 4

Lubricate the walking deck before putting the walking belt back onto the treadmill. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the type of lubricant you should use.

  5. 5

Test the walking belt tension and alignment after you have replaced it. Loosen the tension by turning the screws on the back of the deck in a counterclockwise direction. Tighten the belt by turning in a clockwise direction.

  6. 6

Center the walking belt by turning the adjustment screw on the left rear of the deck counterclockwise to move the belt to the left. Turn the belt in a clockwise direction to move it to the right.

  7. 7

Inspect the motor drive belt. This is the belt on the treadmill motor that propels the rollers. It sometimes needs replacement. Consult your user manual for directions on where to purchase a new belt.

  8. 8

Replace the drive belt, if needed, by removing the bolts and nuts from the right side of the front roller. Remove the screw located on the left side of the treadmill behind the speed sensor on the frame of the treadmill. Slide the front roller from the left side of the treadmill. Remove the old drive belt and install the new one in its place. Ensure that the position of the belt is centred on the roller wheel. Replace the bolts, nuts and screws where they were, as well as the motor cover.
