How to Change a Mercedes Benz Hood Emblem

Updated July 19, 2017

Removing and replacing your Mercedes Benz bonnet emblem is a simple procedure. Whether your emblem is worn and old and you need to replace it with a new one, or you wish to install an aftermarket emblem in its place, it will only require a few minutes to make the change.

Pop your car's bonnet open and go to the underside of the bonnet where the emblem is mounted.

Grasp the ornament with your cotton rag and locate the emblem's retaining clip.

Grab the retaining clip with your needle-nose pliers and turn the clip clockwise 90 degrees.

Pull the emblem upward to remove it.

Place the new emblem into the mounting hole and turn the retaining clip 90 degrees counter-clockwise to lock it into place and complete the procedure.
