Replacing motor mounts with stronger mounts will allow you to run more power through your engine. Motor mounts keep your engine from becoming disconnected from your car's frame while the engine is running. You will pay a lot more in money and time if you take your Accord to a shop to have this job done. You can accomplish this job at your home on your time for a lot less money.

  • 2 jack stands
  • Wrench

Instructions

  1. 1

    Pull your Accord onto even ground and open the bonnet. Disconnect the car's battery from the cables.

    Lift the front right side of the Accord with the jack. Place one jack stand at the support rail under the front of the car. Lower the car's right side onto the jack stand and remove the jack from under the car.

    Lift the left side of the Accord with the jack and place one jack stand under the car at the support rail and lower the car onto the stand.

    Place the jack under the engine and raise the engine up slightly to relive weight from the mounts.

  5. 5

    Remove the bolt from the engine mount using the wrench and ratchet set. Pull the engine mount out of the housing.

  6. 6

    Place the new mount into the housing. Place the new securing bolt into the mount and tighten with the wrench and ratchet set.

  7. 7

    Remove the jack from under the engine,connect the battery to the cables, and close the bonnet.
