The TomTom One is a GPS device used to provide instantaneous directions when travelling by foot or in a car. The GPS unit comes preloaded with most of the maps you will need to travel. You may find, however, that the TomTom One does not have all of the maps you need depending on where you are travelling. You can purchase and download additional maps to your TomTom One.

Purchase the maps you want to add to the GPS unit from the TomTom website (see link in the Resources section below). Once purchased, the maps are automatically added to your TomTom Home account. TomTom Home is the program that manages the connection between the computer and your GPS unit.
Plug one end of the USB data cable into the GPS unit and the other end into a USB jack on your computer. TomTom Home will open on your computer after several seconds. Your new map is displayed in a window of the program.
Click the new map and press "Update and Install." TomTom One will download and install the new map on your computer. You will see status bars on the screen indicating the amount of time left in the download.
Select "Done" when the installation is complete to finish adding your new map to the GPS device.
