Symantec's Norton 360 is a comprehensive computer security suite of applications. Norton 360 provides antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-phishing and data backup services for your computer. Symantec redesigned the Norton 360 suite of applications in 2009 to run primarily as background processes on your computer in order to improve computer efficiency when using the software for real-time computer malware protection. If you are upgrading your computer's operating system or have purchased new productivity software, you may have the need to reinstall Norton 360 2.0.

    Remove the existing installation of Norton 360 2.0 from your computer. To do so, select the "Control Panel" icon located by choosing the "Start" menu followed by the "Settings" and "Control Panel" menu choices.

    Select the "Add or Remove Programs" menu option and click the Norton 360 icon. Then, double click the "Add/Remove Programs" menu choice and follow the default menu prompts to remove Norton 360.

    Restart your computer an insert your Norton 360 installation CD into your computer or double-click the installation file downloaded when purchased online.

    Select the "Install Norton 360" menu option that appears on the subsequent menu screen in the Norton 360 installer. Click the "I agree" check box on the "End-User License Agreement" menu.

    Open the Norton 360 Control Panel after installation is complete by double-clicking the "Norton 360" program icon located on your computer's desktop or via the "Program Files" menu from your computer's "Start" menu.

    Choose the "Activate Now" menu option listed on the lower right-hand corner of the Norton 360 Control Panel. You will then be prompted to enter your Norton product key followed by the "Next" menu button. On the subsequent menu, enter your registered Norton e-mail address and password followed by the "Done" menu button.
