The AVG Security Toolbar is a web browser add-on installed by the AVG Anti-Virus program. This security tool monitors the web and alerts you when you are about to visit a dangerous website, such as one that secretly installs malicious threats like adware or spyware. If you are running into errors with AVG Security Toolbar, or simply not using it, you can safely and easily uninstall it from your computer.

Launch Mozilla Firefox on your computer and click the "Tools" menu located at the top of your browser.
Click "Add-ons" to launch the add-ons management console.
Click "AVG Security Toolbar" and click "Disable" if you want to delete it from your web browser. Click "Uninstall" if you want remove the toolbar completely from your computer. Click "OK" to confirm and uninstall the application.
Mozilla Firefox Users
Launch Internet Explorer and right-click the grey toolbar. Uncheck "AVG Security Toolbar" to disable the application.
To uninstall the toolbar, download the latest AVG software (see Resources) and save it to your desktop.
Double-click the download and click "Run" to launch the installation wizard. Click "Repair installation" on the wizard and uncheck the "Yes, I wish to install the AVG Security Toolbar" option. Finish the installation wizard to update AVG and remove the AVG Security Toolbar.
