How to Start an Acer Aspire 5920 in Safe Mode

The Aspire 5920 Series is a notebook computer that comes standard with the Vista operating system. The Vista operating system features functionality that allows you to start the notebook in safe mode. This mode allows you to troubleshoot and repair your system with minimal system operations running. It takes a few moments to boot your Aspire 5920 in safe mode.

Eject all disks, CD or DVDs from your notebook.

Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your desktop. Scroll up and click the arrow next to the lock icon. Click "Restart."

Wait until the system reboots. Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your desktop. Scroll up and click the arrow next to the lock icon. Click "Restart" again.

Press your "F8" key on top of your keyboard before the Windows symbol appears on your screen. The computer will boot into safe mode. If the computer has more than one operating system installed, press the up and down arrows on your keyboard to choose the operating system want to start in safe mode in the list.

Highlight the safe mode option and press your "Enter" key on your keyboard. Your system will boot into safe mode.
