It's inexpensive and easy to create a man-eating shark costume by using household items or making a few small purchases at a local craft, vintage or fabric store. The costume can be tailored for anyone from toddlers to adults. The concept is so simple it can even be pulled together at the last minute, before heading out to a costume party.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- Gray, hooded shirt
- White, black, red and grey felt or fabric.
- Red paint
Find a sweatshirt or shirt with a hood that can be sacrificed for the greater good of the costume.
Cut a large, white, triangular tooth from white fabric or felt. The tooth should be around an inch wide at the base. Measure it against the outer hem of the hood to see how many will be necessary to line the hood with teeth.
Cut out the rest of the teeth and glue them to the outside of hood so when worn, they will frame your face.
Cut out large, almond-shaped eyes from black or red felt and glue to the top of the hood. Cut a large triangle for the notorious shark fin from grey fabric. Glue to the back of the shirt.
Splatter red paint on the teeth and rest of the costume to give the impression of a real man-eater. Pair the shirt with grey trousers and gloves to complete the look.
