When a ceremony calls for hand-held candle holders and bobeches, you can create a simple one out of just a CD and some foil. The CD provides a hole for a narrow candle and a wide base for wax drippings while the foil serves as material for a handle and adds a silver shine.

Things you need
- Narrow taper candle
- Aluminium foil
Place the base of the candle in the CD hole. If the candle is narrower than 9/16 inch, tear off a small strip of foil and wrap around the base of the candle. Test how much to wrap by inserting the wrapped base into the CD hole. The candle should be firmly stuck in the hole with 1/2 inch of candle sticking out below the CD.
Cut a 12-by-17-inch sheet of foil.
Poke a small hole in the centre of the foil with the scissors.
Insert the candle into the hole, letting the foil lay on the CD base.
Hold the bottom of the candle and pinch foil along the rim of the CD to create a small ridge. This will prevent wax from dripping down onto your hands.
Push down the remainder of the foil and gather underneath the base, squeezing foil to create a spike to grip.
