The mass airflow sensor, or MAF sensor, on your Mercedes E-430 monitors and regulates the airflow through the intake manifold. A clogged or otherwise blocked MAF sensor can negatively impact the performance of your Mercedes because the proper air-fuel ratio can become imbalanced. This can cause your Mercedes to run rough or die. Typically, MAF sensors are just replaced with new ones. However, you can try cleaning yours first with a spray cleaner designed for MAF sensors. This cleaner is sold at auto parts stores.
