Samsung cell phones are contracted with many different popular cell service providers like AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile. While each provider determines the voicemail settings, there is a universal way to check and change the voicemail on your Samsung cell phone. Each phone comes with a menu that is easily accessed through the click of a button, and each menu holds all voicemail information.

Open your phone if it is a fold-up model. Access the cell phone's menu by either pressing the "Menu" button or the button that corresponds with the "Menu" option on the screen.
Select the "Messaging" or "Messages" section within the menu. Select the option "voicemail" and press talk as if you were checking it.
Listen to the automatic voice that guides you through the voicemail menu. When the voice gives you the option to change your personal greeting, press the button instructed. Follow the directions given to record the voicemail greeting and save it. From now on, whenever you do not answer your cell phone, the caller will be transferred to the personal greeting.
