Put a cloth down on a work surface. Remove the battery cap from the laser pointer and take out the batteries. Lay the batteries and the battery cap down on the cloth.
Grab the front section of the laser pointer with the pliers and twist it off from the back section of the laser pointer.
Hold the back section of the laser pointer so that you can see the tiny screw on the laser mechanism.
Turn the tiny screw a quarter turn counterclockwise using the jeweller screwdriver.
Reassemble the laser pointer and hold the two sections together using cellophane tape. Put the batteries back into the laser pointer and screw the battery cap back on.
Aim the laser pointer at the cloth and press the on/off button. Look to see if the laser beam is now strengthened to where it should have been when you bought it. If it does not look strong enough, remove the battery cap and batteries, separate the laser casing and adjust the screw a bit more.
Apply bonding glue to the two halves of the casing where they come together when you are are satisfied with the strength of the laser beam. Let the bonding glue dry.
Put the batteries back into the laser pointer and screw on the battery cap.
Tips and warnings
- Turning the screw too far counterclockwise will eat up battery power much more quickly than if the screw has just been adjusted a little bit.
- Do not ever point a laser beam at a person--it can damage their eyes.
