How to Make Your Own Body Wrap

Making your own body wrap is a fun and inexpensive way to create a home spa treatment . Private salon body wraps can cost hundreds of dollars, but with a visit to the supermarket, you can replicate a spa-like body wrap easily at home.Some find body wraps therapeutic and they may remove toxins from the body. Others find body wraps relaxing and moisturizing for their skin. Many body wrap salons claim they can trim inches away from your body. What ever reason you use to do a body wrap in your home, once you try it, you will be hooked.

Things you need

  • 2 cups aloe vera
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1 cup ground herbs: ground dried ginger, rosemary, lavender
  • Plastic wrap
  • Clean beach or bath towels
  • Massage table or bath tub
  • Votive candles and holders
  • Soothing music

    Research various body wrap recipes. There are many recipes for many different purposes. You may want to research a wrap for moisturizing, a wrap for slimming or a wrap for aromatherapy. The wrap recipe in this article is for moisturizing with added herbs for aromatherapy.

    Blend the aloe vera, cream and herbs in a blender. Make sure the mixture is smooth and creamy. This combination will be aromatic and moisturizing.

    Spread the body wrap mixture onto your legs in a thin, but heavy application. The blended mixture will not soak into your skin like lotion, rather it will be a thin white layer. Rinse your hands and wrap your legs with the plastic wrap.

    Spread the blended cream onto your torso and wrap with plastic wrap.

    Spread the blended cream onto each arm and wrap with plastic wrap. Rinse your hands.

    Lie on your massage table lined with clean bath towels or in your bathtub lined with clean bath towels. For those you don't have a massage table, a dry bathtub is a perfect place to turn off the light, light some candles and play some relaxing music.

    Lay clean towels on top of you to keep you warm, and rest on the table or in the tub for an hour. This will give the blended cream time to moisturize your skin. The scent from of the herbs will also give you a feeling of relaxation.

    Remove plastic wrap after an hour and throw away the plastic. Rinse off your body in the shower with luke warm water. Gently towel dry your skin.
