Gypsies are people whose ancestors originated from northern India. Through the centuries, gypsies spread across Europe and into North America. The word "gypsy" often gives us the image of a fortune teller, wearing loose clothing and a bandanna, speaking with a foreign accent. Gypsy women were seen as mysterious. Getting a gypsy look by using make-up can be easily achieved.

  1. 1

Apply concealer around your eyes and on top of any blemishes on your face. Gently pat the concealer into your skin.

  2. 2

Use a damp cosmetic wedge to apply foundation to your entire face. Blend the foundation in well at your jaw and hairline. Dab on top of the parts of your face you have covered with concealer.

  3. 3

Apply false eyelashes to your eyelids. This will make your eyes look more dramatic and they will stand out better. Apply a thin layer of glue to the eyelash and press into place from one corner or your eye to the other corner.

  4. 4

Use a slanted make-up brush and a dark eye shadow to line the upper and lower eyelids. This will create a soft smoky look to your eyes. Smudge the shadow slightly and reapply if necessary.

  5. 5

Cover your entire eyelid in a medium-coloured eye shadow. Gray or brown will look the best. Gently sweep the colour onto your eyelid, starting at the eyelash line. Work your way up to the brow line, making sure the colour is fainter and fainter as you move up the eyelid.

  6. 6

Blend in a small amount of blush onto your cheekbones. A small amount is all you need because you want your eyes to be the focal point on your face.

  7. 7

Apply a dark-coloured lipstick. The tone you choose will depend upon your skin tone. A fair-complected person should use a slight purple pink or plum colour. A medium-complected person should use a slightly dark plum or medium berry, and a dark-complected person should use a dark plum or dark berry colour.

  8. 8

Finish the look by applying a thin layer of lip gloss to your lips. Dab a bit and reapply as needed.
