  1. 1

Dampen the cloth or paper towels with warm water and wipe down the wall that you will be attaching the Velcro to. Be sure to wipe from top to bottom to ensure that there is no dust, dirt or other debris on the wall that might prevent the Velcro from adhering.

  2. 2

Remove the industrial strength Velcro from its packaging and peel of the paper covering the adhesive side.

  3. 3

Press the Velcro onto the wall and hold it there with your hand, applying pressure for 30 seconds.

  4. 4

Repeat Step 3 until you have covered the entire surface of the wall with Velcro.

  5. 5

Wait up to 30 minutes for the adhesive to set before putting anything on the Velcro wall.

  6. 6

Fix any of the Velcro strips or panels that are not staying affixed to the wall by applying a thin layer of industrial strength glue to the back of the Velcro and pressing it against the wall. Follow the directions on the glue's packaging to learn how much pressure should be applied to the Velcro in order to help the glue stick.

Tips and warnings

  • Most fabric will stick to Velcro on its own but other materials will need a piece of Velcro of their own. Velcro has two types of covering: loops and hooks. Affix only one type to the wall and affix the other side/piece of Velcro to the objects you wish to put on the wall.
