Concrete is a popular flooring choice because it is relatively cheap to install and requires little maintenance. When you are removing carpeting, some of the carpet adhesive will stick to the concrete surface. You can remove this, as well as acid stains, with cleaning compounds that will dissolve the stains and absorb them from the concrete surface.

Instructions
Things you need
- Gloves
- Goggles
- Trisodium phosphate
- Baking soda
- Carpet adhesive remover
- Paint scraper
-
1
Put on gloves and goggles to protect yourself from possible irritation from the cleaning solution.
-
2
Mix 1 oz. trisodium phosphate with 1 cup hot water.
-
3
Add 4 cups of baking soda to make a thick paste. The alkalinity of the baking soda will counteract the acid stain.

-
5
Sweep away the dry paste and throw it away.

6
Repeat the process if the stain is still visible.
-
7
Rinse the area with clear water and let it air-dry completely.
