Insert the HDMI connector of the cable into the HDMI port of your Toshiba television. The port is labelled "HDMI IN" and is located either on the back or the side panel of the TV.
Plug the DVI connector of the cable into the 29 pin DVI output port of the PC video card.
Keep pressing the channel "CH" button on the Toshiba remote control to set your TV to the HDMI channel.
Log in to a user account in Windows XP or Vista and right-click on your desktop. In Windows Vista, choose "Personalize." In Windows XP, click on "Properties."
Click on "Display Settings." Two square icons reading "1" and "2" will appear.
Click on the icon "2" and check the box that reads "Extend the desktop onto this monitor." Click "OK." The PC desktop will appear on your television.
