How to Change Pollen Filter in Honda Crv

Updated March 23, 2017

The Honda CR-V is equipped with two pollen filters (sometimes called cabin air filters). The pollen filters are both located behind the glove box on the passenger side of the vehicle. Replacing them is fairly simple and shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Honda recommends replacing the filters once every 15,000 miles.

Open the glove box door and remove the items from the glove box.

Locate the two rubber stop knobs on the inside of the glove box. There is one stop knob on each side of the glove box.

Push the rubber stop knobs out to unhook the glove box. Lower the glove box completely to access the area behind it.

Remove the plastic filter cover by pressing the tab on the left part of the cover.

Pull out the first pollen filter, and then slide the other filter over to pull it out.

Install one filter (arrows facing down) and push it over to the right side of the filter compartment, and then install the other filter.

Replace the filter cover, and then lift the glove box back into position. Replace the rubber stop knobs to reattach the glove box.

Use Honda factory pollen filters for best results.
