Things you need
- Stud finder
- Electric drill
- 1-by-3-inch support rails
- 2-inch screws (3-4 for each cabinet)
- Preassembled wall-mount cabinets
Select the location to install the cabinets. Using your level, draw a straight line across where you would like the bottom of the cabinets to rest. Make sure the level is completely "level" so the cabinets can be installed evenly.
Locate the studs in the wall with your stud finder. Make a small mark on the wall where each stud is located.
Cut your 1-by-3 support rail to fit the width of your cabinets.
Align the top of the 1-by-3 support rail to the bottom of the line from your level. Screw in the support rail using an electric drill and the 2-inch long screws. Be sure to screw the rail into the wall studs for extra support.
Set each cabinet on top of the support rail and screw the cabinet into place on the bottom and top. Be sure to screw the cabinet directly into the wall studs. With the cabinets secured and their level double-checked, remove the support rail and patch the screw holes.
