Cardboard doll hangers are a fun, easy craft for the little girl who loves dolls and their clothes. It also helps keep all those dolly fashions neat, organised and put away, instead of all over the place. This craft is also very easy to modify for your needs and customise to your little girl's dolls. Additionally, it is rather inexpensive, as you can use materials to make them you already have on hand.
Things you need
- Thin cardboard
- Wrapping paper, ribbons or other decorations (optional)
Grab a hanger out of the closet so you can get a feel for the basic shape, or use an existing doll clothes hanger for a pattern. Draw a hanger shape on the cardboard, and hold the doll's clothes up to it to evaluate the size---adjust this accordingly so that the doll's clothes will actually fit on the hanger.
Cut out the hanger shape. You can leave the middle whole, or you can cut it out like real hangers. If you are making more than one hanger, use this first hanger as a pattern to make the rest by tracing around it.
Decorate your hangers as desired with markers/crayons and glitter or by wrapping them in wrapping paper or ribbons. Allow any glued-on decorations to dry, then use the finished hangers.
