Custom clothes, objects, buildings and other content are available from Sims modification websites. Custom content files are usually available as downloadable ZIP files that you save onto your desktop and copy into the Sims 3 application file. There are three types of files you'll be installing: .package, .sim and .sims3pack. You'll also need a configuration file called "resource.cfg" so your game will recognise your custom content. The CFG file is available from Sims mod websites like Mod the Sims and Peggy Zone.
