The Mortal Kombat series is one of the most popular side-action fighting series in video game history. The most popular set of characters in the series are the various ninja, all of whom are simply pallet swaps (the same character model only with colours changed) through all of the series' early iterations. With this design, you can create a costume for any of the ninjas to be worn for Halloween, a costume party or a convention.

Things you need
- Black sweatpants and hooded sweatshirt
- Coloured fabric of desired character (Yellow for Scorpion, blue for Sub Zero, etc.)
- Coloured thread of desired character
- Fabric sheers
- Velcro strips
Cut the sleeves off of the black sweatshirt.
Create the mask's mouth guard by sewing a strip of coloured fabric across the bottom of the hood's opening, so that it will cover the wearer's mouth and nose.
Cut the front flap by cutting a rectangle of the coloured fabric that is approximately half as wide as the wearer's hips, and twice the length from the wearer's belt-line to their mid-thigh.
Fold the flap in half lengthwise, and sew the three open seems shut.
Cut the belt by cutting a rectangle that is 8 inches wide, and long enough to wrap around the wearer's waist.
Fold the belt in half so that it is 4 inches high, and the length of the wearer's waist, and insert the short end of the front flap which has been sewn shut in-between the two halves of the belt, centred along the width of the belt.
Sew the three open sides of the belt closed, sewing through the front flap where it is tucked into the belt.
Sew the Velcro strips onto the two ends of the belt, with the one piece on the outside of one end of the belt, and the other on the inside of the other end of the belt, so that the belt can be shut with the Velcro.
Create the two halves of the ninja's vest by cutting two rectangles that are 12" wide, and long enough to pass from the wearer's belt line, over their shoulder, and to their belt line in back.
Fold the vest pieces in half so that they are 6 inches wide, and sew the open sides shut.
Sew one end of each vest half to the inside of the belt, on either side of the Velcro strips.
Sew the other end of each vest half to the inside of the belt behind the portion where the front flap is attached. The vest halves should not cross over each other.
Put on the costume by wearing the sweats, sliding your arms through the vest halves and securing the Velcro on the belt.
