  1. 1

Hold one end of the larger piece of ribbon in your right hand and the other end in your left hand.

  2. 2

Cross the ribbon in your right hand behind the ribbon in your left hand about 3/4 inches.

  3. 3

Fold the ribbon in your left hand behind the ribbon to form the first loop.

  4. 4

Make the second loop by bringing the remaining ribbon in your left hand over and lining it up with the first loop. You should have two loops formed on opposite sides.

  5. 5

Wrap a piece of thread around the centre of the loops and pull it to pinch the ribbon in the middle and form the bow.

  6. 6

Turn the bow to the back, put the plastic barrette in the centre and sew the barrette in place.

  7. 7

Use a 6-inch piece of ribbon and fold the ribbon lengthwise in half, if the ribbon is wide.

  8. 8

Make a simple knot and place it on top of the bow.

  9. 9

Sew the knot in place, fold back the ends of the knotted ribbon and sew the ends down. Trim any excess ribbon to make a tail, and then cut off the thread above the knot.
