If youhave lost touch with an old friend from AOL e-mail or AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), you can find her using AOL's online member directory. The member directory is searchable through your AOL account, and it provides details for any profiles. Unless the person deleted his profile, it should still appear in the member directory, no matter how old the account is.

Log in to your AOL account at the AOL Lifestream website. If you don't have an active AOL account, you can create one for free online. You must be a registered AOL Lifestream user to search the member directory.

Click on "People," located just above the search field at the top of the page. Clicking on this limits your search to profiles in the AOL member directory.

Users can elect to share their real name, location, phone number and other details in their AOL profile. If the user lists these items, you can use them to track him down. He may even list his address so you can get back in touch through a letter in the mail.

Find the person using the information obtained in the profile. Phone books, online search engines or private investigators are useful for locating the individual using AOL profile information.
