How to Access Someone's Voicemail

Updated February 21, 2017

Like an answering machine, voicemail on a phone receives and stores messages from missed calls. With the ability to check voicemail from your own phone comes also the ability for other people to check your voicemail with only your wireless number and your pass code. Accessing someone else's voicemail can be done with just these two numbers and any phone, cellular or landline.

Dial the 10-digit phone number of the phone's voicemail you are trying to reach.

Wait through the rings for the personalised or automated voicemail message to begin.

Press the * button on your keypad during the voicemail message and enter the four-digit pass code for that person's voicemail account.

Follow the voice prompts for the specific wireless provider and press the button that indicates the message box of the voicemail you want to access.
