Looking to make on of your favourite childhood treats? The Twinkie has been one of America's favourite snacks since the 1930s, when it was first invented with its banana cream filling. The filling was switched to vanilla because of a banana shortage during World War II. In 2007, Hostess once again began to make and sell the banana cream-filled Twinkies. If you are willing to buy the special pan it takes to make them in the correct shape, then you can sink your teeth into a nice, warm, homemade Twinkie in no time.
