There are a number of reasons why a person would want to block others from seeing their phone number while making calls. You may be trying to surprise the person on the other end, or may not want a record that you called being stored in their phone. Whatever the reason, the actual process is very simple and does not require the installation of additional hardware or anything of that nature.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Turn on your phone. If you have a flip phone, flip open the lid. You need to be able to get to the screen on your phone that enables you to make telephone calls.

  2. Step 2

Press the "*" button, followed by "6" and "7." This is the code that physically blocks your number from showing up on the other person's phone.

  3. Step 3

Dial the rest of the telephone number as normal. Simply dial the phone number of the person you are trying to call in the same fashion that you normally would.

  4. Step 4

Press "Send." The call will now be placed, and on the other person's phone instead of displaying a phone number it will appear as "Restricted."
