Remove all furniture from the room.

Paint lines on the floor to resemble one half of a basketball court. Apply a coat of polyurethane finish when paint is thoroughly dry to seal
Paint the walls in the lighter shade of the team colours.
Cut the hardboard or plywood for the bed headboard to dimensions required to fit the bed. Apply two coats of the blackboard paint. Paint lines around the edges of the headboard and horizontally to create a scoreboard. Attach to the wall.
Attach a purchased team jersey to the cork board, and hang on the wall.
Hang posters (framed if desired) on the wall. A wallpaper mural of basketball players can be used to cover one of the opposite walls or in lieu of the posters.
Staple fabric that matches the curtains to a piece of 1-by-4-foot lumber, wrapping like a package. Staple a collection of team pennants to the covered board. Attach to the wall above the window(s), using screws through the board and into the wall.
Place a basketball hoop on the wall above a laundry basket for "slam dunking" dirty clothes.
Use basketball-themed sheets and bedspreads, or comforters that match the curtains. Add themed furniture to complete the room.
