How to fix cloudy drinking glasses
Cloudy stains on glass are caused by hard water. (

Sometimes glasses come out of the dishwasher looking dirtier than when they were put in. When hard water is heated and cooled, it leaves a film on glasses that can give them a cloudy appearance. Regular washing with soap and water does little to lift this murky film, but with the right materials, this is something that is easy to fix.

  1. 1

Fill a sink with hot water and add a tablespoon of washing up liquid and 237 ml (1 cup) of white vinegar.

  2. 2

Set the glasses in the sink, making sure they are completely submerged.

  3. 3

Allow the glasses to soak for at least 15 minutes.

  4. 4

Rinse the glasses with clean warm water.

  5. 5

Dry the glasses with a soft clean dry towel.
