Instructions

  1. 1

Download Adobe Photoshop to your PC computer. You can buy the full version of Photoshop at any office supply store or computer software store. Buying the full version can be costly, so downloading a free version can allow you to use the Photoshop tools you need to create a great motocross decal without the heavy price tag. To download a free version pf Photoshop, go to the main web page for Soft32 (see Resources below) and click on the blue link that is called "Download Photoshop." The download will begin right away, and the program will be available for use within minutes.

Open a new image file in Adobe Photoshop by clicking the word "File" at the top of the screen, then selecting "New" from the drop-down list. A window will appear containing dimensions for the new image. For an oval decal, type in 5 inches for the width and 3 inches for the height. Type in 300 DPI, or dots per inch, for the resolution, then click on the "OK" button. Your new image will appear ready for your design.

Add the text to your design by clicking the "Text" tool, located inside the toolbox. The toolbox is a vertical window containing many of the editing tools, typically located at the right-hand side of the screen. The "Text" tool looks like a capital "T." Once you have clicked on the "Text" tool, click and drag the marquee box anywhere on your image to select where your text will be. Click inside the box to begin typing. You can change the font, size and colour of your text by using the text-adjustment tools at the top of the screen.
