A bow is a great way to practice hitting a target, and also fun to use. Instead of buying an expensive bow, you can learn to make your own out of PVC pipe. The PVC pipe bow is much less costly. You can make it in less than an hour, and improve your aim just as quickly.

Take a 1.2 m (4 foot) piece of 1.2 cm (1/2 inch) PVC pipe and cut a 1.2 cm (1/2 inch) horizontal slit across the centre of each end. Make sure to get both sides of the pipe.

Cut a piece of elastic string 30 cm (1 foot) smaller than the length of the PVC pipe; in this case the string will be 90 cm (3 feet) long.

Slide the string through the slit in one end of the pipe and duct tape it tightly, so it will not slide.

Pull the string to the other end of the pipe and make sure it is stretched as tightly as possible. It should resist being pulled; that way you have enough resistance to shoot your arrows.

Slide the string into the other end and tape it. Stretch the elastic string to make sure it doesn't slip out or become loose. If it does, tighten it and use more tape to hold it.

Wrap the handle in duct tape for better grip. Use practice arrows to learn how to shoot your new bow.
