Instructions

Turning Photos Into Sticker Art on Your Wall

  1. 1

Take some digital photos you would like to plaster on the wall, or look through your digital camera's memory card or computer hard drive to find images you like. You can even take photos that already exist and scan them on your computer. With the right equipment, you can turn any photographic image into sticker art.

  2. 2

Insert the photo memory card into your computer or connect the digital camera to the computer using a cable. Open Windows Explorer and find the folder that contains your images.

  3. 3

Buy sticker paper that you can use in your printer. Many different paper manufacturers make printer paper in which the back can be peeled off and stuck to a flat surface. Most printers will recommend that you only use paper made by the company that made the printer, but in most cases, you can use any manufacturer's paper.

  4. 4

Call up the image you want to print by clicking on the picture in Windows Explorer or by opening the photo from your favourite photo-editing software program. Once the image is available for printing, click on "Printer Setup." The Printer Setup will look different depending on the computer, but look for a way to change the printing option to sticker paper or special paper.

  5. 5

Run a test to see which side of the paper gets printed on. You don't want to waste time and paper by printing on the wrong side.

  6. 6

Click "Print" and wait for the image to be completely printed. Choose the wall on which you want to place the sticker and carefully remove the backing sheet. Line the sticker paper to the spot on the wall of your choice and slowly apply it. Sticker paper is not going to work well unless the wall is completely flat. If you have an uneven surface, try adhering poster board on the wall and then placing the stickers directly onto the poster board.

Tips and warnings

  • Sticker paper can be bought at office supply stores, department stores and online.
