Using paper you have around the house along with some cork board, you can make your own mug mats. Children and adults can manage this project. The materials are non-toxic and, with supervision, children can cut their own materials. This is an inexpensive and fun craft that can be used for gift giving.

Things you need
- Cutting mat (optional)
- Cork board
- Scrap book paper
- Craft glue
- Scissors/craft knife
- Acrylic sealer (optional)
Measure and mark a 4-by-4 inch square onto the paper and also onto the cork board. Place them on the mat board or your cutting surface.
Cut the squares from the paper and the cork board using the scissor for the paper and the craft knife for the cork board. Use the ruler when cutting cork board so the lines will be straight.
Apply craft glue to the surface of the cork board. Let it sit for a minute or two.
Place the paper over the top of the glue and smooth it out from the centre toward the borders. Let the project dry completely.
Use the craft knife and the ruler to cut any edges that don't line up.
Tips and warnings
