Step 1
Visit Hemrietta's Handbags (see Resources). This website is a vast resource of other websites that offer free purse and handbag patterns. The site is updated often so there are new patterns to be found regularly. Along the left sidebar of the webpage, find a listing of every website that is linked to this website. The number of free purse patterns that you could find on this website is astronomical. In fact, looking through every website and purse pattern that is available on this website may not even be possible to do, there are so many. Bookmark this site, and then find a purse to make and get busy.

Step 2
Visit Studio Kat Designs for a nice selection of free purse patterns (see Resources). While the selection on this website is not quite as extensive as the first website, this website is worth visiting because of the quality of these free patterns. This website also has purse patterns available for sale. You will find a tote bag pattern, a nesting bag (with zippers) pattern, a cash bag pattern and some small organizational bags suitable for travel. The patterns are available as simple downloads. If you become overwhelmed with websites that offer too much selection, this site may be more suited for you.

Step 3
Visit Craft and Fabric Links for another attractive selection of free purse, tote and hand bag patterns (see Resources). The free patterns include a tote bag, a coin purse and bag patterns. Not only are there free patterns available for download, but this website also offers free sewing lessons, crafting lessons and even free lessons designed to help you learn how to turn purse-making into a profitable business. This site also offers a newsletter and has a list of resources to help you shop for supplies and materials.

Great ideas!
Here's another idea: check out my article, how to make a strawberry purse. It's great for strawberry shortcake fans and little girls!
