Built-in GPS is one of many cutting edge features of the BlackBerry Curve. You can turn off the GPS tracking in map applications or disable the GPS receiver entirely.

Instructions

    Turning off GPS completely

    Highlight and select "Options" on the main menu.

    Select "Advanced Options."

    Select "GPS."

    Press the "Menu" key.

    Select "Disable GPS." If the BlackBerry asks you to confirm, select "Yes." If "Disable GPS" is not an option but "Activate GPS" is, then your GPS is already turned off.

    Press the "Menu" key.

    Select "Stop GPS." If "Stop GPS" is not a menu option but "Start GPS" is, then your GPS tracking is already disabled.

Tips and warnings
