How to Cook Steaks in the Oven

Updated April 17, 2017

Sweet, succulent steaks on the grill are the perfect summer night meal. But in the winter it's a must to cook steaks in the oven. Most people don't have the ability to use a grill year round due to weather conditions and usually resort to using the oven.

Marinate or flavour the steaks as usual.

Preheat the oven to "Broil."

Remove the top of the broiling pan and pour water into the basin.

Place the steaks on to the top of the broiling pan.

Move the rack in the oven up to the highest level.

Put the broiling pan on the top rack. Broil the steaks for 8 minutes.

Remove the broiling pan from the oven and flip the steaks. Broil them for 6 minutes. Allow the steaks to cool slightly before serving.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 to 2-inch steaks
  • Broiling pan
  • 1 cup Water
