Organza ribbon is a beautiful ribbon that is appropriate for all wedding bows. They work well when decorating the pews or seats at the ceremony. They are beautiful on corsages and in bridesmaids and the bridal bouquet. You can make a set of matching bows for a decoration for the doors of the church. Organza ribbon bows can be used on the cake knife and in various areas at the reception -- almost anywhere you need an elegant organza bow.

Cut a 25 to 35 cm (10 to 14 inch) piece of organza ribbon. Tie a single loose knot in the centre. Set aside.

Pick up the end of the organza ribbon. Measure 25 to 30 cm (10 to 12 inches) up from the end and pinch the ribbon between your thumb and forefinger.

Series of loops

Continue twisting and forming loops until you have a series of eight loops.

Pick up the knotted piece of organza ribbon. Drape it over the bow you are still holding in your hand. Arrange the knot at the centre of the bow.

Tails of ribbon

Turn the bow over and pull the tails of the knotted piece up at each side.

Firmly tie the two tails to secure the centre of the bow. Double knot for added security.

Cut the four tails of the bow at a slant or in a V notch.

Tip

If this is your first attempt at tying bows, consider practicing with a less expensive ribbon before using your wedding organza ribbon. If this is a pew bow, tie a thick ponytail cloth covered elastic into the back when securing the bow. This can be placed over some pew ends or a pew bouquet holder.
